Where Nature & Nurture Meet
Where Nature & Nurture Meet
NAU MAI, HAERE MAI
You’ve heard the saying ‘nature knows best’
At Black Pond Farm, this is the philosophy we live by. It is reflected in the way we care for our land and nurture our animals. And it is the difference that you will taste in our exceptional free range, grass-fed beef.
Organically grown, holistic and wholesome, 100% in tune with nature.
Farm to fork, from our family to yours
Now more than ever it’s important to know where your food comes from, and how it got to your table. We are fully on board with keeping it local, small-scale and 100% transparent.
If it carries the Black Pond Farm name, you can be sure it’s safe, authentic and premium: organically grown restaurant-quality meat that is sustainably and ethically produced.
We don’t just farm the land, we love it
We’re a small, family-owned operation focused on quality; taking the time to do the right thing as custodians of the land.
With nature taking the lead we observe and listen. Then we support and cultivate, working with the seasons to achieve a balanced, sustainable, fully organic, healthy and happy farm environment.
A lighter hand, for a brighter future
We want our slice of Aotearoa to be the best it can be for future generations to enjoy. To this end, 30 of our 106 hectares is in covenanted bush, protected by QEII.
Our main bush areas are over 100 years old, and include many mature native trees and an abundance of bird life. We’ve fenced off our guts and gullies and have planted these out in native trees too. And we’re doing our bit to eliminate noxious weeds and pests, with great results, and flourishing flora and fauna.
Every day we honour natural systems and work the land in a way that respects our animals and the environment
